17. A hard compound cuts better than a soft one
Again, that's one of those kinda, ish, sort of deals.

A hard compound or abrasive may also be brittle. Then it will cut once, lose its edge and won't cut at all, while a softer abrasive may hold its edge and keep on cutting.
